Japanese Calligraphy Painting on Watercolour Paper and Pottery

A beginner-friendly sumi-e workshop using ink and brush to explore traditional motifs, followed by decorating a bisqueware bowl or plate. Materials, firing and postage are included.

Participants practise painting an ensō circle and motifs associated with the four virtues using black ink and a Japanese brush, then glaze a bisqueware bowl or plate. The listing includes materials, an apron, firing and postage, and serves tea, Japanese sweets and other refreshments. No prior experience is required.
