A solo exhibition by Pia Camil that uses shuttered paintings, woodcuts, and references to Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom to consider looking, privacy, desire, and wildness.
Camil’s installation links the Godiva legend to the act of watching, then translates that tension into paintings with adjustable shutters and accompanying woodcuts. The show considers privacy, desire, wildness and binary ways of thinking. Curated by Maria do Carmo M. P. de Pontes.
