In the Shadow of Tewkesbury Abbey: Abbey Gatehouse Open Days

The Landmark Trust opens its medieval Abbey Gatehouse in Tewkesbury to the public for a free festive weekend, with history information and staff on hand.

The Landmark Trust is opening Abbey Gatehouse, a c.1500 medieval gatehouse it restored after taking the building on in 1986, for a festive open weekend — its first public opening since summer 2019. Visitors can explore the single large room reached up a tight spiral staircase, with information available on the building's history and restoration and knowledgeable Landmark staff present. On the Saturday, Tewkesbury Abbey next door holds its annual Christmas Fair with stalls, crafts, food and drink. Entry is free with limited capacity, so a queue may form at busy times.
