The Quarkness - A Tribute to the Spirit of Hawkwind

Tribute band The Quarkness perform classic Hawkwind tracks from the early '70s to the Quark era with a psychedelic lightshow at The Continental.

The Quarkness is a new band of experienced musicians performing classic Hawkwind tracks from the piledriving early '70s blanga period through the Robert Calvert-led 'Quark' years and beyond. The line-up features Karl Benson (Half Man Half Biscuit) on guitar and vocals, Roddie Gilliard (the Muffin Men) on keys and synthesisers, Mandy Bruce (Iconoclasts/Slingbacks) on bass and vocals, and 'Spekki' Sarah Lucas (Iconoclasts) on drums. The show is a standing gig with doors at 8pm, accompanied by a psychedelic lightshow and projections from Zenjen Lighting, who have worked with Space Ritual and Hawklords.
