Celebrating the Land of Song
About
Crickhowell Choral Society and harpist Jessica Davies open the Celtic Roots Festival '26 with a free afternoon concert of Welsh, Purcell, Elgar and Mendelssohn choral music.
This opening concert of the Celtic Roots Festival '26 features Crickhowell Choral Society performing a programme on Welsh heroes and the natural world, including Purcell and Elgar works on Caractacus and Arthur, Mendelssohn's Choral Songs Op. 59, and Welsh songs sung by the Society's choral scholars. Guest harpist Jessica Davies plays music associated with harpists such as Catrin Finch, with a focus on the legacy of Ann Griffiths, whose anniversary falls on the concert day. Admission is free with a retiring collection, and refreshments are available.
