About
The Harlequin Players stage Richard Bean and Oliver Chris's wartime comedy Jack Absolute Flies Again, set at a 1940 RAF airbase.
Richard Bean and Oliver Chris's comedy is set in April 1940, as arrogant RAF pilot Jack Absolute, grounded after crashing too many planes, is reassigned to a Lincolnshire coastal airbase. There he contends with eccentric officers, rival pilots and a formidable new commanding officer while navigating love, duty and his own ego as the Battle of Britain looms. The play mixes fast-paced dialogue and physical comedy with moments of emotional stakes in a story about courage, camaraderie and growing up.
