Shabaka

Shabaka performs live at the Brudenell Social Club, touring music from his 2026 solo album Of The Earth.

Shabaka Hutchings, known for Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming, brings his solo project to the Brudenell. The show supports his 2026 album Of The Earth, written, performed, produced and mixed entirely by him, blending rhythmic propulsion with expansive choral melodies played mainly on alto flute and saxophone. The material draws together the dance-driven energy of his earlier bands and the quieter, breath-led language of his recent solo work, and for the first time incorporates his voice through rap as an extension of rhythm and phrasing.
