Seizure Admission
About
Pre-booked timed admission slots to visit Roger Hiorns' Seizure, a copper sulphate crystal-grown council flat installation at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Seizure is Roger Hiorns' 2008 artwork, created by pumping 75,000 litres of liquid copper sulphate into an empty Southwark council flat, coating its walls, floor, ceiling and bath in blue crystals. Rescued from demolition in 2011 by the Arts Council Collection, the 31-tonne work is now displayed at YSP within a concrete structure designed by Adam Khan Architects. Access is by pre-booked time slot only, with limited capacity to conserve the artwork; the booking includes general YSP admission at no extra charge. The work is not wheelchair accessible and involves steps, narrow corridors and small spaces.
