About

Korinna Schönhärl examines tax scandals in Spain, West Germany and the United States from the 1950s to the 1980s and the moral standards they helped renegotiate.

The Gerda Henkel Foundation Visiting Professorship lecture uses historical tax scandals involving companies, public figures and tax officials to explore changing expectations around tax payment. GHIL connects those debates to wider questions about the relationship between states and citizens and between citizens of unequal status. The event is offered as a hybrid session at GHIL and online; advance Eventbrite registration is required. No precise finishing time is published.
