Marley was Dead
About
A comedic drama imagining Jacob Marley accidentally triggering the events of A Christmas Carol via an afterlife support group of literary ghosts.
Rebecca Morris's festive comedy-drama asks what would happen if the haunting of Ebenezer Scrooge occurred entirely by accident. Released from seven years of purgatory, Jacob Marley stumbles into an afterlife support group of history and literature's most famous spirits, where a competition to stage the best haunting spirals out of control. As Marley and the three Christmas Spirits pursue Scrooge, other ghosts chase unfinished business of their own, with consequences rippling across literature. Performances take place in the Royal Concert Hall's Level 4 Foyer on 14 December and Nelsons Studio on 17 December; the 17 December show is sold out. Age guidance 14+, with under-14s accompanied by an adult.
