Scandinavia with Love: A Curator's Tour
About
Curator Tanya Martin leads an evening tour exploring Scandinavian design and Ken Stradling's passion for it.
Curator Tanya Martin leads an exclusive tour examining the enduring appeal of Scandinavian design, from its early 20th-century roots to its continuing influence on interiors worldwide. The tour covers the movement's hallmarks — functionality, simplicity, clean lines and natural materials — and its links to the Bauhaus school. It also traces how Ken Stradling, after visiting Scandinavia in 1961, championed the style through the Bristol Guild, introducing ceramics from Arabia and Rörstrand and glass from Holmegaard and Orrefors to British shoppers.
