CS50x Puzzle Day at Oxford
About
A team-based puzzle-solving evening at Oxford with Harvard's CS50, open to CS50 learners and locals with no programming experience needed.
CS50 returns to the UK for its second-annual Puzzle Day, held at the University of Oxford in collaboration with Oxford Lifelong Learning. Teams of two to four collaborate on a packet of logic puzzles — not programming challenges — with the aim of showing that computer science is about problem-solving rather than coding. The evening runs from check-in with pizza at 5pm, puzzle solving from 6pm, and solutions revealed at 9pm, hosted by Professor David J. Malan alongside Oxford professors Daniel Wilson, Nicholas Day and Tom Crawford. No prior computer science experience is required, and organisers help individuals form teams on the night.
