Lyon Opera Ballet: Mycelium

Lyon Opera Ballet pairs Christos Papadopoulos’s Mycelium with Jan Martens’s Period Piece in a two-work dance programme.

Christos Papadopoulos’s Mycelium draws on underground fungal networks and uses a cast of 20 dancers in a collective movement work. Jan Martens’s Period Piece combines older dance forms with contemporary choreography and features dancer Kristina Bentz. It is for ages 12 and over and contains loud music. The runtime field says approximately one hour, while the published running order lists 15 minutes for Period Piece, a 20-minute interval and one hour for Mycelium; the total duration is unresolved.
