LMP: Beethoven’s Fifth

The London Mozart Players perform Beethoven's Fifth Symphony alongside works by Florence Price and Mendelssohn at St Martin-in-the-Fields.

The London Mozart Players explore the question of fate in Beethoven's Symphony No.5, a work written over four years as the composer's hearing deteriorated. The programme opens with Florence Price's Adoration, followed by Mendelssohn's Concerto for Violin and Piano in D minor, performed by Martin James Bartlett and Sebastian Bohren. Jonathan Bloxham conducts, with Ruth Rogers as leader. The concert runs for two hours including an interval.
