Collecting and Connoisseurship: Winchester's Greek Vases in Context

A free exhibition at Winchester College's Treasury museum, curated by sixth form pupils, exploring the school's collection of ancient Greek painted pottery.

Winchester College holds almost one hundred examples of ancient Greek painted pottery, most purchased by the school or given as gifts in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This exhibition in the Treasury museum examines the history of the Winchester collection alongside wider developments in the study and collecting of Greek vases. It has been curated by a group of sixth form pupils and opens in mid-April 2026.
