Governance Now 2026: Purpose & Place

A one-day conference for cultural sector trustees and leaders exploring governance through change, with an optional pre-conference taster and Turner Prize private view.

Governance Now 2026, presented by Clore Leadership and the Cultural Governance Alliance, is a flagship conference on cultural sector governance held at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Sessions address how boards can lead through political change, devolution, funding uncertainty and shifting public expectations, with speakers from culture, arts funding, local government and public life. On Monday 2 November delegates can add an interactive 'Culture Crisis Lab' taster session and a private view of the Turner Prize 2026 exhibition at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, with the full conference day on Tuesday 3 November.
