About

A KS5 Spanish study day on how contemporary cinema treats the Franco and Pinochet dictatorships, built around a screening of The Silence of Others.

Conducted mostly in Spanish and aimed at A-level students following the AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas historical and socio-political sub-themes. The morning is an introduced screening of The Silence of Others (Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar, 2018); the afternoon is a clip-based presentation on how the film represents political repression, the disappeared, memory wars and victims still seeking justice, followed by a Q&A with subjects from the documentary. A resource pack is provided on the day.
