Lavenham Literary Festival - Milly Ellis

Voice coach Milly Ellis talks about her two decades working with actor Michael Gambon, including her role as his 'earwig' feeding him lines through an earpiece.

Milly Ellis, a specialist voice coach, spent over 20 years working closely with Michael Gambon and witnessed his performances and the stories he and friends such as Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench told. As Gambon struggled to remember his lines late in his career, she worked as his 'earwig', prompting him via an earpiece. Ellis has also coached business leaders, collaborated with figures including John Malkovich and the Royal Ballet, and directed documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC. The talk runs from 2pm to 3pm at Little Hall, which has steep stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
