Sir Winston Churchill Lecture – Crafting for Survival with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe
About
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe delivers the Sir Winston Churchill Lecture on how craft and creativity sustained her during nearly six years of detention in Iran.
In this endowed lecture, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe reflects on how making things became an act of resistance during her nearly six years of detention in Iran, preserving identity and a measure of freedom. Since her release she has continued exploring craft's healing power through collaborations with Liberty and the Imperial War Museum, including a fabric collection inspired by captivity. The lecture lasts approximately 45 minutes and is followed by a Q&A, with doors opening at 6:15pm and the talk beginning at 7pm.
