The Mildenhall Treasure Mixed Reality Exhibition

Using mixed-reality headsets, visitors explore a digitally recreated version of the 1942 discovery site and uncover detailed 3D replicas of the Roman silver hoard.

Visitors wear mixed-reality headsets to step into a digital recreation of the Suffolk field where the Mildenhall Treasure was discovered in 1942. They uncover and inspect detailed three-dimensional replicas of the late-Roman silverware as if finding the hoard themselves. Developed by Xibitr with Mildenhall Museum, this free exhibition uses interactive storytelling to connect the archaeological find with Suffolk’s local history. The published dates are 12–15 January 2027; hourly sessions are advertised within 10:00–15:00, but individual start times are not shown in the public booking form.
