About

An open-competition exhibition of 83 selected landscape artworks by artists from 43 countries, shown in the museum's Major Exhibition Galleries.

The Landscape Open 2026 is an open art competition celebrating artists' relationship with landscape, judged by a panel including museum director Adrian Green and artists Nina Murdoch and Emma Stibbon. From over 2,400 submissions by more than 1,200 artists across 43 countries, 83 works in any medium were selected for display. Awards include a £1,000 winner's prize for Ambrosine Allen, who will also receive a solo exhibition at the museum in 2027, plus a residency prize and student mentoring prizes.
