About

A free display of letters by Samuel Johnson and Anna Seward, with David Garrick’s wax seal, exploring eighteenth-century relationships, social attitudes and how letters travelled.

The exhibition is in the fifth-floor Attic, reached by stairs only. The museum lists the display through 31 October 2026. Its objects include three letters by Johnson, one by Anna Seward and Garrick’s wax seal. Developed through Keele history student Harvey Venables’s collection research. Published seasonal visiting hours through October are 10:30–16:30.
