Thanksgiving
About
A seasonal display traces Kiplin Hall’s Calvert family origins and the American Thanksgiving tradition through plants, food and a family pumpkin craft.
The display explores Kiplin Hall’s links to the Calvert family, founders of Maryland, and Thanksgiving customs through plants, food and historical figures. Visitors can make a 3D paper pumpkin for the grand-staircase display; related activities are provided in the Family Activity Room and on the grounds’ Tree Trail. It runs from 2 October to 26 November 2026, 11:00–17:00 while the Hall is open; the venue is normally closed on Thursdays, with an additional opening on Thanksgiving Day, 26 November, before the winter closure.
