The Gospel according to Mark

Canon Chancellor Kevin Walton lectures on the distinctive style and themes of Mark's Gospel at Lincoln Cathedral's Chapter House.

The Revd Dr Kevin Walton, Canon Chancellor at Lincoln Cathedral, gives a lecture on the Gospel according to Mark, the gospel featured in this year's church lectionary. He explores Mark's urgent literary style, its place as possibly the first of the gospels, and its central question to Peter and the reader: 'Who do you say that I am?'. The talk also considers the abrupt ending of the earliest manuscripts and whether an original ending was lost or intended.
