STEM taster day

A hands-on STEM taster day at Southampton Solent University letting students try university-level engineering, computing, construction and maritime activities.

This on-campus taster day gives students a chance to experience university STEM subjects through practical workshops in facilities including the SMART Centre, mechanics laboratories, construction and fabrication workshops, towing tanks and the maritime simulation suite. Activities span applied robotics, land surveying, hydromechanics, kinematic simulation and chartwork. The day is aimed at students interested in engineering, architecture, computing, technology and maritime; college tutors book groups via the registration form, while individual students can attend by emailing the organiser.
