Fraction Infinity + Encounter + Shuffle Tingo Skiffle

Second night of Charles Hayward's two-day residency at Cafe OTO featuring three works including Fraction Infinity with Evan Parker and other London improvisers.

This is the second night of Charles Hayward's two-night residency at Cafe OTO, presenting three groupings: Fraction Infinity, Encounter and Shuffle Tingo Skiffle. Fraction Infinity was originally written for the London Contemporary Orchestra, with whom Hayward collaborated at Southbank Centre in 2022, and has since been adapted for changing groups of improvisers; this version places the score with Evan Parker, Alan Wilkinson, Yoni Silver, Caius Williams and Hayward. The residency revisits compositions that change with each performance and pairs Hayward's work with younger London musicians alongside less familiar collaborations, with concepts and codes 'falling away into pure sound'.
