Pattern Drafting and Cutting - 3 Day Workshop

A three-day dressmaking workshop at Franklins Salisbury teaching you to draft and adapt pattern blocks to your own measurements.

Over three Wednesdays in February, Mary-Louise teaches participants to take a standard size block and adapt it to their own hip, waist and bust measurements. Days 1 and 2 focus on perfecting the fit of a bodice block and sleeve, with a skirt block added if time allows, producing a paper block and matching toile. Day 3 covers turning the personal block into a chosen garment style, exploring dart placement, pleats, gathers and seam lines. The class is not suitable for complete beginners; some dressmaking experience is required.
