About
A conservation work session focused on managing willow coppice at Long Mead, a Local Wildlife Site.
Long Mead is a privately owned farm and designated Local Wildlife Site on the banks of the Thames at Swinford. The work involves managing a large willow coppice, specifically breaking up the monoculture by pruning saplings back to a stump and covering them to exclude daylight. Volunteers will also collect willow binders for future hedge-laying projects.
