Soundhouse: Street Band Workshop with Oi Musica

A street band workshop led by Oi Musica where drummers and brass/reed players aged 12+ learn a piece by ear and play together in an intergenerational band.

Oi Musica, creators of the award-winning youth project Brass Blast, lead a hands-on street band workshop for drummers and brass/reed players aged 12 and over. Participants learn a piece of music by ear and explore how street bands work and what makes their performances effective, from celebration to protest. Samba drums are provided for drummers of any experience level, while brass/reed players bring their own instrument and need some prior experience. The session is capped at 20 drummers and 25 brass/reed players.
