Rutherglen 900: Rutherglen Mela

Glasgow Mela and Rutherglen 900 bring a celebration of Rutherglen's cultural diversity to Rutherglen Town Hall on Saturday 7th November 2026.

Drawing on the UK tradition of Melas — South Asian gatherings featuring arts, sports, culture and food — this event gives a platform to South Asian and other newer communities in Rutherglen. It offers a space for everyone to learn about each other's journeys, histories and futures as part of the Rutherglen 900 anniversary celebrations.
