Warming up and using improvisation in rehearsals

A directors' workshop led by Jonathan Reed exploring warm-up exercises and improvisation techniques for use in theatre rehearsals.

This workshop in Tower Theatre's directors' workshop series covers exercises that work as stand-alone warm-ups and as preparation for improvisation in rehearsals. Participants will build skills in initiating scenes, listening to and supporting scene partners, and committing to characters. The session then looks at applying improvisation to the rehearsal process, including creating backstory, exploring character attitudes and relationships, and testing a character's intentions.
