Blues Guitar Beginners Part 2

A one-day blues guitar workshop with Joff Watkins covering 12 bar progressions, the blues scale and shuffle rhythms for advancing beginners.

This full-day workshop (10am–3pm) helps guitarists move on with their blues playing, exploring 12 bar progressions, the blues scale and shuffle rhythms in more depth through tunes by Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed and John Lee Hooker. Participants should bring a 6-string acoustic guitar; prior attendance on Beginners Part 1 is recommended, and players should be confident with E, A, D and B7 chords and the E and A minor pentatonic scales. Tea and coffee are provided, and full-day participants should bring a packed lunch.
