Lunchtime Jazz: Christ-Stephane Boizi Sextet
About
A lunchtime jazz concert by trombonist Christ-Stéphane Boizi and his sextet, blending hard bop with roots in Black church music.
Trombonist, composer and bandleader Christ-Stéphane Boizi leads his sextet in a lunchtime concert at St George's Bristol. Boizi, a Tomorrow's Warriors Emerging Artist recently signed to Mark Kavuma's Banger Factory Records, performs compositions rooted in the hard bop tradition of Art Blakey, Horace Silver and Jackie McLean, interwoven with his personal connection to the music of the Black Christian Church. The performance is part of Tomorrow's Warriors' Warriors Rise initiative, a seven-date UK run supporting three emerging artists. Suitable for ages 8+.
