About
Zürich-based afrobeat and highlife project Konkolo Orchestra plays a standing live show at Norwich Arts Centre with support.
Konkolo Orchestra, a Zürich-based project initiated by multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer Alexis Malefakis, performs live at Norwich Arts Centre with support. Their music draws on jazzy afrobeat and highlife, paying homage to innovators such as Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Tony Allen and Ebo Taylor. The band's compositions feature guest vocalists including Nongoma, Sir Frank Karikari and Kitio Batola, plus percussion from Eric Owusu and a powerhouse horn section. The show is standing, with doors open from 7pm.
