Upholstery for Beginners: Make a Footstool in a Day!

A one-day beginner upholstery workshop at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery where participants build and upholster their own 14-inch footstool.

This six-hour workshop teaches the fundamentals of modern upholstery through a hands-on project: building a footstool from the frame up. Participants assemble the frame, add padding, and choose and fit their own fabric, learning practical techniques along the way. Attendees bring one metre of upholstery-grade fabric; all other materials and tools are provided, and everyone leaves with a finished handcrafted 14-inch footstool.
