About
A comedic stage adaptation of Flaubert's Madame Bovary at Chester Little Theatre, running from 6 to 13 March 2027 with 7.30pm performances.
Chester Little Theatre stages The Massive Tragedy of Madame Bovary, an adaptation of Gustave Flaubert's nineteenth-century novel by John Nicholson and Javier Marzan, directed by Lexie Fox-Hutchings. The production promises verbal slapstick, visual surprise and anarchic comedy as it follows Emma Bovary's ill-fated choice of husband, with love scenes, vermin, moustaches, wild animals, French people and a nun among the chaos. Performances run at 7.30pm during the week-long run.
