Buzz Map: Insect DNA Mapping

A free citizen science session with London Wildlife Trust learning to set up Malaise traps, process and identify insect samples at Walthamstow Wetlands.

Join London Wildlife Trust's team for a hands-on citizen science project discovering the diversity of insects from across the UK. Participants learn about setting up a Malaise trap, supporting sample collection, processing and identification, and help with visitor engagement activities on insect conservation. Training and support are provided, so no experience is necessary. The session is aimed at adults 18+, with young people aged 11+ welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.
