About
An informal hands-on letterpress printing session with resident printer Matt Holmes, open to adults aged 18+ of any experience level.
Wood Type Wednesday is a relaxed studio session at Devonport Guildhall where participants can set type, operate presses and print their own posters and typographic experiments using historic wood and metal type. Resident printer and researcher Matt Holmes offers guidance throughout, making the session suitable for complete beginners as well as designers, artists and printmakers. Attendees take home their own letterpress prints and gain practical experience of traditional printing techniques.
