The City

A two-hour interactive poetry workshop led by James McDermott exploring how to write about the city.

This interactive writing workshop, timed to coincide with an exhibition linked to Manchester, explores how poets write about the city and how its scale, energy and diversity can be reflected in poems. Participants take part in a series of writing exercises and group discussions of poems. The session runs from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and is led by local writer and teacher James McDermott, an Arvon writing tutor and UEA creative writing lecturer whose collections include 'Father Myself', 'Wild Life' and 'Manatomy'.
