Lutenist Sergio Bucheli gives two recitals on lute and archlute in the chapel at 38 St Giles, surveying leading composers and virtuosos of Renaissance and Baroque plucked-string music. The programme draws on repertoire from the Italian and Western European schools of the 15th to 17th centuries, including works by Piccinini, Kapsberger, Janequin, Dalza and Francesco da Milano from the Siena Lute Book. The venue's acoustic is noted as especially suited to plucked instruments.
