Emily Moore :: New Terrain

Free exhibition of Emily Moore's new paintings 'New Terrain', blending landscape, architecture and abstraction, at &Gallery in Edinburgh.

Emily Moore returns to &Gallery with 'New Terrain', a new body of work made in anticipation of a forthcoming residency in Portugal. The paintings bring together strands of her practice, pairing mountainous landscapes with architecture, fencing and geometric structures alongside photographic fragments and gestural paint. Working across unstretched canvas and panel, she uses screenprinting, paint and drawing in layered processes that shift imagery between representation and abstraction, with an expanded palette introducing warmer reds and oranges alongside her established blues.
