About

A free study day for sixth form students featuring taster lectures, Japanese language workshops, cultural activities, alumni careers talks and a university fair about Japan-related studies.

The Japan Society's Sixth Form Japan Day gives UK students a chance to explore Japanese studies at university, whether as a single honours degree or combined with other subjects. The programme includes language taster sessions run by the universities of Cardiff, Lancashire and Leeds, taster lectures from Birkbeck and Cambridge, drop-in cultural activities during lunch, a careers talk from alumni, and a student discussion panel with representatives from Cambridge and East Anglia. A university fair features institutions including Oxford, SOAS, Warwick and Ritsumeikan University, plus the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation London. No prior knowledge of Japanese is required, and travel bursaries of up to £60 are available for students in need.
