David Byrne’s Night

A Burns Night tribute show blending Talking Heads songs with recitals of Robert Burns' verse at the Old Fruitmarket.

David Byrne’s Night is a tribute act celebrating the shared heritage of Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and Robert Burns, performing a special Burns Night show at the Old Fruitmarket as part of Celtic Connections. A rotating collective of musicians from the indie, punk and experimental worlds reinterpret Byrne's catalogue alongside recitals of Burns' verse, with theatrical touches and an ever-changing house band. The show is billed as equal parts gig, cultural gathering and artistic happening, with no two performances the same.
