A come-and-sing day at St Mary's Church, Shinfield, rehearsing Handel's Messiah and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio before a 6pm public concert with professional soloists.
Singers of all abilities spend the day at St Mary's Church, Shinfield, rehearsing Handel's Messiah (Part 1 and the Hallelujah Chorus) and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio, plus Advent music by Kodály, Mendelssohn, Bach and Berlioz and a Rutter encore. Award-winning conductor Beth Fitzpatrick and vocal coach Alison Chamberlain lead the sessions, with learning tracks provided in advance and a printed music pack on the day. Everything is accompanied by organ, with a string quartet for the Saint-Saëns and Mendelssohn. The day culminates in a 6pm public concert with professional soloists, which friends and family can attend.
