About

Ensemble LUMBRE performs South American folk-rooted music, from zamba to candombe, in arrangements blending jazz and chamber music at Hellens Manor.

LUMBRE, an ensemble formed by musicians from Argentina and Portugal, presents a programme travelling from the Andes to the Río de la Plata, featuring rhythms such as zamba, chacarera, huayno and candombe. The line-up includes vocals from Aixa, piano, 7-string guitar, violin and cello, blending folk-rooted repertoire with jazz and chamber music influences. Classic pieces sit alongside original compositions, reshaped through refined arrangements, rhythmic interplay and dynamic contrast. The concert begins at 19:30, with the Haywain Bar opening 30 minutes beforehand.
