Black Britons, Race and Policing — discussion and Blacks Britannica screening

Bisi Akintoye joins chair Remy-Paulin Twahirwa to discuss Black British experiences of policing, alongside a screening of the 1978 documentary Blacks Britannica.

The launch of Akintoye’s Black Britons, Race, and Policing: The Long Shadow brings together documentary history and contemporary research on racialised policing. The speakers consider themes from the film and the book, including citizenship, belonging and resistance. This is one combined screening and discussion programme.
