Wednesday Wainwright – Hallin Fell and Steel Knotts

A free volunteer-led group walk of around 4 hours up Hallin Fell and Steel Knotts in Martindale, organised by Wonderful Wild Women.

Wonderful Wild Women host a 'Wednesday Wainwright' guided by Tina, a qualified mountain leader leading on a voluntary basis. The 8km route takes in around 560m of ascent and descent, climbing Hallin Fell first before descending and ascending Steel Knotts (Pikeawassa), taking roughly four hours depending on pace and weather. Participants should be fit enough for uneven, mountainous terrain and bring lunch, drinks, boots and waterproofs. The group also collects optional cash donations for Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
