Trace the former Grand Surrey Canal from Peckham towards Rotherhithe with Paul Talling, exploring lost waterways and surviving dock remains.
Starting outside Peckham Library, the route crosses Burgess Park and passes Old Kent Road, Deptford and Surrey Quays. It examines redundant bridges, timber wharves and remnants of locks, with an optional riverside pub visit at the end near Rotherhithe station. Advance tickets are required; payment on the day is unavailable. Published timings describe the meeting or departure, while the finish is approximate. Dogs are welcome.
