Jakob Rowlinson: ROTATOR

Jakob Rowlinson's ROTATOR is an installation presented in the Visitor Centre at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

ROTATOR is Rowlinson's first institutional project, featuring three colorful and intricate leather sculptures suspended above the Visitor Centre concourse. The work explores material histories, the ecology of the Park's landscape, and the artist's interest in queering the archive. The leather sculptures are inspired by native orange-tip and comma butterflies and reference Yorkshire's leather tanning history and LGBTQIA+ subculture.
