Soulby’s Brewery

Adam Cartwright tells the story of Soulby, Sons & Winch, the brewery that once dominated much of east and south Lincolnshire.

The Alford brewery supplied nearly 150 pubs across the county, with branches in Louth and Boston, before the company was bought out in 1952. Cartwright’s published work includes Good Honest Tales: 150 Years of Batemans Brewery and Brewing in Lincolnshire.
